From Hide to Icon: Crafting the Hat & Skull Art Logo in Leather
At Hat and Skull Art, we don’t just create logos—we carve legacies. Our newest leather logo wasn’t born in a file or flattened into pixels. It was etched, tooled, and sculpted into existence, combining tattoo-inspired art with raw, Canadian-sourced leather to become a brand emblem you can touch.
Why a Leather Logo?
Because plastic peels and paper fades. We wanted a living mark—a piece that mirrors our ethos: bold, handmade, and unapologetically original. Using Horween leather, our signature logo was wet molded and hand-burnished, capturing every contour and ink stroke like a tattoo you can wear—or hang proudly.
The Process
Hand-selected hide: We start with premium full-grain leather.
Sketched in ink: Designs are drawn freehand—just like our tattooed cuffs.
Carved and tooled: Each letter and line is raised with care and precision.
Dyed and sealed: We use our own beeswax finish to make it water-resistant and timeproof.
It’s More Than a Logo—It’s Leather Art
This isn’t branding. This is identity in rawhide. Our handcrafted logo is now a featured element on:
Custom leather hats
Artist display boards
Packaging tags
And soon—limited-run logo patches for your jackets and bags.
